SAW II Slices Into Retail

Jigsaw and his deadly traps return in Konami's brutal horror/action/trap simulation game, SAW II. Definitely not for the weak-stomached gamer, this sequel has improved graphics and combat, a ton of new traps and is spread over even larger environments than the first game. Not a huge fan of the movies myself, but I liked the first's game a lot thanks to some devious puzzles and a mix of adventure game elements twisted on their ears. This one should be twice as gory and even more devious.

Dark and gritty screens below the jump - more to come in an update shortly.

Gallery Update VI: Splatterhouse

Nice and chunky red goodness with a side of ribs in these latest Splatterhouse shots. Yummy and yucky in every bite!

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare DLC Screens/Trailer

Rockstar's Western mega-hit gets some truly chilling (and awesomely gory) new content later this year with the Undead Nightmare DLC pack for the PS3 and Xbox 360. here's a look at the trailer plus game poster art and two of the slightly gorier screen shots not in my hands-on preview. Played a tiny bit at this year's New York Comic Con and yup, it's most likely going to be the best ten bucks (or 800 Microsoft Points) you'll spend on an expansion pack this year. Expect five or so hours of single player content and an as yet to be revealed multiplayer mode. More on the game on the normal DAF blog - click below, enjoy the trailer and keep an eye peeled (har har) for more on the game shortly.

Gallery Update V: Splatterhouse

And here we go again... more bloody Splatterhouse goodness courtesy of Namco Bandai. My, my, my... the blood does fly in these shots, doesn't it?

F3AR Almaverse Trailer

It just gets weirder and weirder with WBIE's new entry in the horror-themed FPS for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Check out the Almaverse (and be glad as all hell you don't live there).

Gallery Update: Splatterhouse

Just a few more tame to awesomely gory screens for Namco Bandai's relaunch of the horror action game. Just keep saying to yourself: "It's only a few weeks away... It's only a few weeks away... It's only a few weeks away..."

2o points if you get the joke, by the way.

BioShock Infinite Gameplay Footage

Excellent stuff here as Irrational takes the popular franchise to new heights both figuratively and literally. Hoping this comes to NYC so I can get some hands-on time, as I'm a fan of the series (for the single player experience, far more than the multiplayer, though). More updates to come as new footage is released.

Gallery: Knights Contract (Ultra-Violence Screens)

Namco Bandai's upcoming addition to the spate of hyper-violent God of War-influenced games has some truly bizarre-looking monsters and a nicely stylized look to it that I like quite a lot. It's also one pretty gore-packed hack-up, as you'll see in these screens not quite ready for the regular DAF blog (thanks, ESRB and your silly restrictions!). With a 2011 release date, here's hoping the game gets enough polish and press to become a hit in its own right. GO, Game Republic!

Mortal Kombat "Shadows" Trailer

This pretty cool MK trailer manages to be nicely not for the kiddies even though all its violence is in silhouette. We'll have to see if the gameplay is as tight as the screen shots and movies shown so far.

Gallery Update: Dead Rising 2 Co-Op

Cleaned up nicely for Gamescom, these excellent DR2 co-op screens are pretty darn tame considering the other far gorier videos and screens released for the upcoming game. Ah well, "clean" or not, I'll still run them here anyway - enjoy!

Trailer: Dead Space 2

Absolutely amazing footage here (and the game plays even better, folks) of Visceral's follow-up to perhaps the scariest sci-fi horror action game to date. It's not coming out until early next year, but DS2 is already at the top of my most wanted list.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta Trailer

Ready at Dawn + Sony Santa Monica Studios + Kratos = yet another PSP masterpiece. Check out the trailer for a nice tease of what's to come. From what I played at the Sony event a few weeks back, the game looks spectacular, the controls are tight and overall, this is the best portable GOW game to date.

Trailer: Splatterhouse

Namco Bandai's gruesomely gorgeous relaunch of its seminal horror/action franchise is looking like a surefire hit for genre fans. Take a peek at this great E3 trailer for a bit of what to expect in the final version.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Teaser

Here's a quick look at COD: Black Ops' multiplayer in action. The three stages of single player campaign I saw last week was indeed incredible stuff, so it's great to see that Treyarch has kept the same high quality chaos fans of the series expect very much intact. There's no doubt this one's going t0 sell a few million right out of the gate.

Knights Contract E3 Trailer

Nice-looking and brutal stuff here from Namco Bandai and developer Game Republic. Love the concept, the hideous monsters and the fast-paced action. Sure, it might not be the next God of War (well, only GOW is GOW, folks), but it's good to see twisted stuff like this get the green light when it's looking as cool as what's here so far. More, please!
