Ah, there's nothing like console exclusive DLC in a multi-platform release to set the internet ablaze with hatred. PS3 owners have gotten their share of console-only or console first DLC (as Batman: Arkham Asylum and Battlefield 3 fans can attest to), so in the grand tennis match called gaming, it's Microsoft's turn to get something cool. But of course to some gamers, it seems no one is the winner here at the end of the day. Between the 360 crowd gloating away and no news from Capcom as to if or when this DLC will ever see the light of day on a Sony console, you have to wonder who made the decision to deprive PS3 fans this content in the first place while allowing for it to be paraded in front of them all over the internet... Ah well.

Resddent Evil: Operation Raccoon City Nemesis Mode Trailer: Xbox 360 Owners Get Lucky (For Now)...

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City "Brutality" Trailer: Well, What Did You Expect?
More nicely gory (and fast-paced) madness from Capcom and Slant Six in this latest REORC trailer. As I've said before, I really think this one will surprise a lot of RE fans who just want more of the same "classic" RE gameplay with an accessible, challenging and FUN multiplayer focused action/shooter that's great as a single player experience, but spectacular with up to three other friends. Remember, folks: March 23, 2012 on PS3 and Xbox 360 in the US. PC gamers here need to wait until May 18 (eek!), but hey, you should have a console in your house anyway just to show you're an actual gamer and not just some elitist who just brags about how much loot you spend upgrading your system as if it's a custom car. Granted, there's nothing wrong with that as long as you're happy, but knocking any console just because it can't run a game too fast or as pretty as you'd like never takes into account how much fun a game is to play no matter what it's played on...

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Character Trailer: Who's Who (And How)...
Slant Six Games and Capcom just keep making me happier with every new trailer they roll out for their upcoming tactical horror action game, set for a March 20, 2012 launch on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (with a PC version date TBA). I'm pretty confident that once the final ships out, all that hard work will pay off big time as even the most stubborn fan of the traditional RE games will be on board this ship and not coming up for air until they've seen everything it has to offer. The great thing is (especially for those "core" fans) is that REORC in no way, shape or form breaks any established "canon" at all. In fact, the game shows events from the perspective of a totally new group of peiople who tackle things in a completely different style. Of course, this makes me imagine what sort of game the original Resident Evil would have been had the team stuck together in that old, creaky trap (and dog and zombie and et cetera) infested mansion...
Hmmm. uh-oh... there's money in that idea, I bet... ;^P

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Multiplayer Trailer (PLUS!)
Here's the second REORC trailer released last week plus a look at the earlier "Heroes" trailer that shows off the playable characters from the game. I'm definitely going to be trying all these guys and gals out when the game finally ships out, that's for sure...

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Triple Impact Trailer: Yes, It's Killer Stuff...
Slant Six Games has a great surprise for those expecting another run of the mill RE experience. As this amazing new trailer shows, Operation Raccoon City is set to blow players away with some excellent team-based run & gun action while keeping the scares coming when necessary. Between the faster-paced multiplayer action and the great all-around selection of bad-asses on display, the game is sure to win over new players, convert the diehard skeptics and make Capcom proud of the time and talent doing their best to bring the long-running franchise into 2012 with style to spare.
The game doesn't arrive until March, but it's been on my radar for a while and after playing the demo last year at NYCC, I can't wait to get by paws on the final version. Capcom is set for a stellar year with this, Asura's Wrath, their core fighters and Dragon's Dogma (once it tweaked a bit) plus whatever other surprises they can come up with and I just love that!
