Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection Trailer: Wii Shall See The Fear Even Clearer Now...

Capcom is bringing its two Wii games to the PS3 via PSN shortly with Move support and HD visuals and yes indeed, it's another great chance to play a few more games in the long-running franchise you may have missed out on. Of course, I'd prefer a disc version, but what can you do other than wish these days as more and more games go digital. Still, I hope we see as many of the games in the RE series as possible get the multi-platform treatment, as there's almost always something to recommend about each one to folks who've not yet played them...

Yakuza: Dead Souls Mini-Games: Bringing Sexy Back... In That Weird Japanese Way...

Ah, memories... no, not of any secret trip to Japan I've made, silly (hell, not on my budget!) - just of Playing Yakuza 4 last year and getting a chuckle over the assorted geisha-themed mini-games. You really can't take them too seriously (like a few game critics and prudish did) because at the end of the day, you're playing a GAME that pokes great fun at what actually goes on inside these leisure lairs. That and hell, this time out, there are packs of zombies standing in your way, so even getting to the club will have you wading through a few dozen or so undead out to chew your face off. After all that hell, a little relaxation will be very much needed, I say.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Triple Impact Trailer: Yes, It's Killer Stuff...

Slant Six Games has a great surprise for those expecting another run of the mill RE experience.  As this amazing new trailer shows, Operation Raccoon City is set to blow players away with some excellent team-based run & gun action while keeping the scares coming when necessary. Between the faster-paced multiplayer action and the great all-around selection of bad-asses on display, the game is sure to win over new players, convert the diehard skeptics and make Capcom proud of the time and talent doing their best to bring the long-running franchise into 2012 with style to spare.

The game doesn't arrive until March, but it's been on my radar for a while and after playing the demo last year at NYCC, I can't wait to get by paws on the final version. Capcom is set for a stellar year with this, Asura's Wrath, their core fighters and Dragon's Dogma (once it tweaked a bit) plus whatever other surprises they can come up with and I just love that!

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Trailer: MWOW3

Hyperbole-filled text aside, this does indeed look spectacular. Amusingly enough, I'm a LOT more intrigued about the single player campaign than the endless multiplayer modes and all the hype they generate. I really want to see how the story is told and what some of these shots in the trailer mean. Sure, it's probably not what 90% or more of the folks who plan to snap this up at launch are craving, but personally, I like a good STORY in my games. There's just no actual good reason for me to play games that require just running around and shooting people in the face for fun and points to spend on more stuff to run around and shoot people in the face faster. Sorry, kids... but for me, plot matters as much as gameplay, especially in a game where a large scale world war is the selling point.

Gamescom 2011: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (MGS3 Walkthrough)

Excellent gameplay footage from HD version of MGS3: Snake Eater, headed to the PS3 and Xbox 360 (!) with Metal Gear Solid 2 and MGS Peace Walker (plus a few bonuses). While you're wrapping your head around ANOTHER PS2 to Xbox 360 port, some other folks are missing the point of these collections entirely. They're NOT supposed to be total HD "remakes" at all, but they do give gamers the opportunity to pick up a few older games that have been remastered to run in a gorgeous higher resolution (which looks far better than the older PS3 upscaling effect). Xbox 360 owners who aren't big Sony fans finally get to play games they've missed out on (while perhaps convincing them that they need a PS3 for MGS 4 or some other exclusives worth buying). I predict that this set will be a huge smash on both consoles (duh), as Sold Snake seems to be irresistible no matter which platform he appears on. I'm a tad ticked off that Japanese gamers get Metal Gear Solid on their collections, but I won't miss it much (as I still own a copy of MGS: Twin Snakes for the GameCube, the best-looking version of that classic) .

Killzone 3 PlayStation Home Trailer

Pretty slick mix of live action and gameplay footage here - the game is only a few weeks away and looks to be a huge winner for Sony and it's multi-tiered strategy combining HD, 3D, and PlayStation Move support all in one major game release. I'm hoping we see a remake of the first game on either the PS3 or NGP at some point (but I guess E3 will reveal more on that, huh?).

SOCOM 4 "Not For Self" MP Trailer

Zipper Interactive's latest in the long-running squad-based FPS franchise is looking amazing in this multiplayer-centric trailer. The big year for the PS3 rolls onward, crunching nearly all in its path, it seems...

Asura's Wrath Trailer (Is Pure Insanity As Well as Brillantly Awesome)

Of all the Capcom games coming out this year, it's Asura's Wrath I'm REALLY wanting to play the most. It looks insanely spectacular in a God Hand meets God of War Meets Dynasty Warriors way and if they can pull it off as fluidly as possible, I can see a mega-hit busting up sales in the near future...

Mass Effect 2 PS3 Launch Trailer

It's here and if you own a PS3, it's a MUST-buy game (one of many on the console this year). Working on getting a review copy so I can spend another 80+ hours immersed in this grand epic (this time with better visuals and a bunch of extras)...

Killzone 3: "Justice" Trailer

MORE awesomeness from Guerrilla Games - the clock is ticking away as the release date for this PS3 FPS gets closer and the game is looking more and more fantastic with each new reveal. I'll shut up now so you can watch this one a few times, as it's quite something...

Heavy Rain "Making Of" Video: Cutting Room Floor

I thought this PS3 game was stellar and pretty damn intense, but wow. The stuff Quantic Dream cut out is pretty amazing. Check it out, but don't get any ideas...

Resistance 3 VGA Trailer

Insomniac might be going multiplatform, but they're certainly NOT selling their PS3 fan base short at all. Killer, killer trailer from 2011's instant candidate for shooter of the year. It's going to be a damn good year for PS3 owners, that's for sure...

Fairytale Fights Screens + Artwork

Playlogic's awesomely hysterical hack & slash/platformer hybrid game is coming your way on October 27, 2009 - my hands-on preview is here. The bloody stuff you missed is here:

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Co-Op Trailer

Absolutely awesome trailer for Codemasters' upcoming tactical/simulation FPS, although it's hard pressed to see what's really M- rated here (if you're looking for that sort of thing). Oh well, it's a stunner anyway - enjoy!

Brütal Legend (One Brutal Screenshot!)

The one really bloody BL screen in the set I got from EA. Hadn't really noticed it at first until someone pointed out I'd posted this with the "normal" ones. Oops. Nice and splashy, isn't it?
